About Us

EHEN is about making connections between environmental organisations in East Hampshire. Sharing knowledge and experience, building support and co-operation on environmental projects. We also plan to offer services such as fundraising advice, communications support and skills matching.

We are a Community Interest Company and a sub group of the East Hampshire Community Partnership. Any income we make as a result of providing services will be ploughed back into the project.

EHEN aims to be self sufficient but welcomed initial grant aid from East Hampshire District Council and receives some ongoing support from the East Hampshire Community Partnership.

Information and Resources

Environmental problems and successful community action needs good, accessible information to make informed choices.  I believe that EHEN will be able to fill that gap and provide the community with the information and resources it needs to become more resilient, aware and effective.

Working together

"Sustaining and improving our environment is something we cannot do alone and initial meetings with local individuals and organisations have shown that there is a lot of expertise, knowledge and commitment that we can share. The network is a means of achieving this and, as it develops, I hope it will have an important role in linking people, promoting the issues and building on action that is already taking place."
Mrs Elizabeth Cartwright OBE

 Mutual support

"East Hampshire has many volunteers doing all sorts of things, including many that are involved in the environment in one way or another. The network aims to link these groups to provide mutual support and involvement. As a Community Interest Company, EHEN will also be able to help facilitate funding and expertise for network members."
John Charnock-Wilson, EHEN Director.

Enthusiasm

"I believe that EHEN will build on the immense enthusiasm that abounds around the district to protect and improve the local environment. Additionally, it will inform and guide residents to live within their environmental limits, and enhance their quality of life."
